Post Please help
As I always understood things, one could only use a specific ancestor for a sub-hope once. However, Krenko was told that you can, in a way, re-use ancestors, as long as the resulting sub-hope/breed looked different. This led me to an idea, but I don't want to put it into action without knowing if I'm understanding things correctly.

The idea - Krenko and I have many ancestorless ponyapans that are the ancestors of our ponya sub-hopes and sub-breeds. I want to use them to help other people make ponyapan sub-breeds. I would take "orders," so-to-speak, of ponyas people wanted bred, and send them the eggs for a price. What I don't want to have to do is keep track of which ponyas have bred with which other ponyas. I suppose my questions are:

1. Can I breed ponyas A & B, make a sub, then re-breed ponyas A & B to make another sub, as long as the 2nd sub doesn't look like the first? Is it "sub-breed legal" to make 2 subs using the exact same ancestors?
2. Would anyone be interested in something like this? If you could put in an "order" for me to breed a male and a female from two ancestorless ponyas - your choice of ancestors - would anyone be interested?

Please LMK if this would work.

It is totally acceptable. In fact, some breeders start with a "pool" of creatures, so to speak, and end up with a few different unique breeds. I apologize for any confusion. There are no sub-breed rules against it.

I don't think it was clarified, kaleidoscope clearly says one creature and specifically store bought and then goes on to say might meaning it's not automatically overlooked. If we interpret kaleidoscopes post literally, sub breeds may share a singular store bought creature but no more than one and not a creature which has been bred and this is done case-by-case, not guaranteed to be accepted and not recommended. Yet from the things Hadley has told us, we may re-use creatures even bred ones freely as long as they aren't perfected creatures.

I don't think any interpretation could bend what kaleidoscope said into what Hadley has said and I think it needs clearing up.

I asked about this years ago when I had the issue with my first two breeds not being accepted due to being related to another Sub-breed. I had completely forgot about it until just recently. As far as I can recall, it was explained to me very similarly to what Hadley said. As long as the ancestors aren't perfected you can use them. Seeing as how at the moment Hadley is our admin, and none of the others are here, her interpretation is what we go by. You said we need it to be more clear, well Hadley is the only one who can make it clear. So we go by what she said.

I believe that this has been explained, and MW got her answer. Topic locked.
